Position: Controller
Reports to: CEO & COO
Position Highlights
As the Controller, you will be responsible for all aspects of financial management, including accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget, and forecasts preparation, as well as development of internal control policies and procedures. While planning and directing all accounting for the business(es) you will be expected to maintain and operate the books and records, as well as compile and analyze financial information for the organization. You will develop and integrate revenue/expense analyses, projections, reports and presentations. You will aid in identifying trends and developments in competitive environments and presents findings to senior management. Our Controller will also perform financial forecasting and reconciliation of internal accounts.
A Day in The Life of a Controller
Maintains a documented system of accounting policies and procedures; implements a system of controls over accounting transactions to minimize risk
Oversees the production of periodic financial reports; ensures that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles or international financial reporting standards
Recommends benchmarks that will be used to measure the company’s performance
Produces the annual budget and forecasts; reports significant budget differences to management
Provides financial analysis
Works with external auditors and provides needed information for the annual audit
Files quarterly and annual reports with applicable local, state, and federal agencies
Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements
Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned
Assist in talent, recruitment and onboarding as needed for payroll department and executive leadership
Develop and promote programs to keep the organization efficient and financially successful
Assist in development and administration of company policy and procedure
Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned
Preparation of letters, documents, fliers, and mail handling
Handle necessary tasks and off-site appointments when needed
Brainstorm and share creative, strategic, financial planning ideas
Assist in engagement efforts and events as requested
Maintain a high level of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
Education and Experience
Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Business Administration Required
5+yrs Experience Required
Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant designation preferred
Valid drivers license and dependable transportation
Willingness to learn new things
Customer Service experience preferred
